On Patrol - and a helping hand ! |

|
Good evening Manor Park,
A busy late turn yesterday saw some great results from the team:
Proactive mobile (car and bikes) patrols saw 9 stop and searches - 3 positive - the issuing of one penalty notice for possession and three “Caution Plus Three” notices - “Caution Plus Three” is a police caution and an out of court seizure and disposal of the drugs seized while the individuals are still under investigation. This means the individual attends a police station at an agreed time for interview re the offence without being put into custody at that time.
Caution Plus Three are faster and more efficient and when the interview takes place it is conducted under caution and carries exactly the same weight in a court of law as an interview under arrest.
In addition, the police stopped and spoke to a homeless male who had been brought to their attention by a local resident who had raised concerns for the individuals welfare. The male was cooperative and agreed for his details to be forwarded to StreetLink - StreetLink is a digital platform which allows people to raise alerts re homeless people with the view of putting local outreach teams in touch with them. After speaking to the homeless man, taking some details and sending a referral to StreetLink I was really pleased to receive an email about an hour ago informing me that local services had found and engaged with him and that the process was now being started to help him off the streets.
Anyone can refer a homeless person to StreetLink:
You can submit an alert via The StreetLink Portal (go into any search engine and simply type this in) or call the StreetLink helpline at 0300 500 0914.
Best wishes
Douglas Waterman PCSO 7134NE Manor Park SNT.
